More than 50 sports, many attractive competitions, further training, networking, new sports trends and numerous live experiences – the 15th Ried sports fair, which takes place from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th March, has all this to offer. “We want to do our part to make Austria – and especially the youth here – fitter and healthier. There are a lot of innovations this year. In addition to a variety of new sports, a separate dance hall with hip-hop & breaking awaits visitors for the first time.

Premiere for the sports forum

An absolute highlight will certainly be the first sports forum with three exciting specialist lectures on the topics of social media, press and media work and successful teamwork. Peter Stöger, the successful team player, trainer and sports director, could also be won over for this,” says Exhibition Director Helmut Slezak happily. The sports forum will take place on Friday, March 24, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. with three exciting specialist presentations by top speakers. Remaining tickets are still available online at www.sportmesse-ried.at/sportforum-ticket.

On 11,000 square meters in seven halls, visitors to Ried can get to know not only traditional sports but also numerous innovative trend sports. Teqball, calisthenics, sailing, pole dance and CrossFit are new. In addition, there are various running competitions (individuals and in teams) for children, young people and adults on Saturday and Sunday, for which – according to exhibition director Slezak – a total of more than 400 participants have already registered. One of them is the Löffler fair run on Sunday, March 26, from 11:30 a.m. It is also the start of the ten-run series “Innviertel runs”.

testing for young people

“How fit are you?” The Sportland Oberösterreich wants to know and offers a sport motor test for elementary school students as part of the project of the same name. At the Sportland Upper Austria stand, all young visitors can complete the test stations free of charge. They demonstrate their strength, speed, endurance, coordination and mobility under expert guidance. As a thank you, the children receive a certificate, among other things. Sports stars will also be in Ried at the weekend. Among them discus thrower Lukas Weißhaidinger, heptathlete Verena Mayr and swimmer Bernhard Reitshammer.

Opening hours of the 15th Ried Sports Fair, Friday, March 24, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (“Fill your Future School Day” with free entry). Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
