The repair bonus has already been claimed 525,000 times since it was introduced almost a year ago in April 2022. 3,469 companies are currently participating in the support program. Due to the great demand, the Ministry of Climate and Energy announced that 50 million euros more funds will be made available this year.
This is how you get the repair bonus
The repair of devices is intended to avoid electronic waste – so far the estimated 2,600 tons, according to the ministry. Each repair voucher covers 50 percent of the repair costs and is worth up to 200 euros. It is available at www.REPAIRBOnus.at. A voucher can be requested for each electrical device, which can be used for a repair and/or a cost estimate. As soon as this voucher has been redeemed, you can apply for a new voucher and use it to repair another electrical or electronic device.
Around 130 million euros from the EU recovery and resilience fund are available for the repair bonus until 2026.
These devices are very popular
Smartphones and mobile phones have been repaired most frequently with more than 225,000 repairs. Dishwashers (almost 45,000), washing machines (around 42,000), coffee machines (41,000) and laptops (23,000) were also frequently repaired.
