Bolsonaro’s return also finds him under investigation for the attempted coup that thousands of his followers staged on January 8 by invading and destroying the Planalto Palace, Congress and the Federal Supreme Court.

In recent weeks, Bolsonaro has called for the release of the prisoners for violating the rule of law, considering them “good people.”

Bolsonaro’s return coincides with the takeoff of his ex-wife, Michelle Firmo Bolsonaroas president of the female branch of the force, the Women’s Liberal Party, with which several leaders consider that she could be a presidential candidate by 2026 to capture an electorate that mostly showed an aversion to the former Army captain.

With his retirement as a parliamentarian – he rejected that of former president because he was a minor – Bolsonaro will also earn another 6,900 dollars a month, with which his monthly income will exceed 14,500 dollars.

According to the local press, the party, as part of the agreement made upon joining, will provide him with a country house on the outskirts of Brasilia to live with Michelle Bolsonaro and their daughter, Laura, for whom the political force pays a monthly rent of $2,200.
