Dog from Upper Austria led to murder suspects

After the violent death of a 42-year-old Romanian in Henndorf am Wallersee (Flachgau) early Monday morning, the arrested suspect confessed to the crime, according to the police. The 34-year-old Hungarian was questioned for several hours, and there may be a relationship crime in the room. As a police spokeswoman said, it was apparently about a woman. However, it is still unclear what relationship she and the two men had to each other.

Upper Austrian dog led to the suspect

The large contingent of emergency services has service dogs on the trail of the alleged perpetrator “Dionysus” brought from Upper Austria: The person search dog followed the suspect’s scent for one and a half kilometers and was finally able to track him down. However, officials had already surrounded the holiday home where he was staying because it was suspected that the alleged perpetrator could be staying there.

The fact came on Monday around 5.30 a.m. in a multi-party apartment building in the center of Henndorf. At that time, the two men were with the tenant in her apartment. The Hungarian is said to have inflicted several stab wounds and cuts on his opponent with a knife and fled after the crime. Neighbors around the house heard the woman’s cries for help and alerted the emergency services. Paramedics and police officers tried to revive the 42-year-old, but the emergency doctor could only determine his death.

Different information

The murder weapon was left on the spot and was seized by the police. According to media reports, the dead person may have been the tenant’s boyfriend, and the suspect was her ex-boyfriend. The police could not confirm this information on Tuesday. “The statements of the woman and the alleged perpetrator diverge. Both say different things”said the police spokeswoman. “Further investigations are needed here.”

Officers from the Cobra task force were able to arrest the Hungarian who had fled four hours after the crime at a nearby holiday home. The man inflicted himself with cuts before the arrest, but these were not life-threatening. He was therefore treated as an outpatient in the hospital before his interrogation.

The 34-year-old Hungarian was admitted to the Salzburg prison on Tuesday. The accused has no entries in the criminal record in Austria.
