JetSmart inaugurated the new air route between Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro

The airline added three weekly flights to the city of Rio de Janeiro that will have promotional prices for its launch.

The flight was inaugurated between Montevideo and Rio de Janeiro from the airline JetSmart that had been announced at the beginning of December of last year, contributing to the connectivity of the Uruguay to the world.

The Ministry of Tourism appeared at the Carrasco Airport with the minister Tabare Viera together with the Commercial Manager Dario Ratinoff of JetSmart and the Commercial Manager of Uruguay Airports, Matias Carluccio.

The flights will have three weekly frequencies, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and will have the promotional price of $133 the round trip $78 the turn. The fare difference that occurs between outbound and return flights lies in the lower tax burden that it presents Brazil against Uruguay.

Minister Viera, for his part, indicated that the ministry is working to promote Uruguay as a destination with varied tourist offers, and recalled that although Uruguay depends largely on the influx of Argentine tourists, those who arrive from Brazil are around a fifteen% to the twenty%.

Routes that are expanding

The airline made its maiden flight between Santiago de Chile and Montevideo on the day January 18, 2022in one of their planes Airbus A320with capacity for 186 passengers. With this new announcement, the company expands the number of international connections from Montevideo, by adding Brazil as a destination.

At that time, the commercial manager of JetSmart for Uruguay and Argentina, Dario Ratinoff, expressed his joy at the arrival of the first flight to Uruguay. The airline was already considering continuing to open destinations with promotional rates starting at $20 —plus fees— per leg.
