The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation’s design would create confusion with its own three stripes, the company told the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in a filing Monday.

Adidas has been using its logo since 1952, it says. It has achieved “international fame and enormous public recognition”. The deadline for Black Lives Matter to comment on the trademark dispute is May 6th. Adidas initially declined to comment. Representatives from the Black Lives Matter group did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

With the move, the German sporting goods group wants to block the movement’s request to use the design on goods that Adidas also sells – such as shirts, hats and bags. The company has filed over 90 lawsuits and reached more than 200 settlement agreements related to the logo since 2008.
