The United States opens its doors to Uruguayan investors

The US embassy in Montevideo presented the SelectUSA program, which promotes investments through information and contacts with the North American business world.

The Embassy of the United States in Uruguay presented a program for Uruguayan companies, mainly technology, that are thinking of investing in the northern country, based on the presentation of information and contacts that help to insert themselves into the business environment of that country.

The program is called SelectUSA and has the objective of informing companies with the intention of investing in the United States, helping them to insert themselves into the business system of that country, as well as making them aware of the different laws and regulations of the United States that they will have to take into account when to develop a business.

Although the plan is recommended for companies or startups that are dedicated to IT sectorAlso included are business and professional services, financial services, motoring, healthcare, energy, aerospace, defense, agribusiness, consumer goods, and food and beverage.

According to the commercial adviser of the embassy, Matthew Poole, “SelectUSA is a program that operates as a national ‘window’ for international companies to invest”. Pool is designated to promote commercial relations between Uruguay and the United States, and qualifies the program as a promoter and facilitator of business investments.

With this plan, companies will have access to different programs, including information for the visa accessthe market trends US, financing, scalingprograms of strategies and commercial techniques (soft landing) and the search for possible investors to achieve an expansion of the enterprise (fundraising).

To apply for the program, companies must make an oral presentation about their business in front of attendees and a jury that will qualify whether or not they are suitable for the program.

SelectUSA also features an annual investor summit May 1-4, which will take place in Washington D.C.., the capital of the United States. The value of the ticket is $1,095.
