School director becomes head of training at Loxone

In Kollerschlag, Loxone, as a specialist for building automation, is not only building an event center including hotels and restaurants, but also the Loxone training center. The experienced educator Tobias Gruber will use his expertise to develop new educational concepts and teaching methods. From now on, the 40-year-old from Mühlviertel will take over the training and further education as Head of Education as well as the management of the trainer team. In addition to the internal training of Loxone employees, the focus is on the complex area of training Loxone partners. More and more electrician companies are recognizing that the transfer of knowledge for intelligent building automation contributes to making the profession more attractive. Here, too, Loxone is a pioneer when it comes to training employees to qualify as electricians.

New learning concepts

In addition to the technical competence in the training, the pedagogical perfection is now taking place with Tobias Gruber. Gruber graduated as a teacher for mathematics, computer science and handicrafts as well as studying “e-learning and content management”. From 2018 he was the director of the Europa-Mittelschule digiTNMS Peilstein. With numerous initiated projects such as the “flexitime model for pupils”, flexible learning times, various school experiments and as a co-author of the textbook “Digital Education in Secondary School – Computational Thinking with BBC micro:bit”, the Aigen-Schlägler also impressed with his technical understanding .

Tobias Gruber explains the reasons for his move to Loxone: “As a house builder, I was the first to use Loxone in 2009. The fact that I can now share responsibility for and help shape the further course for success was a particularly great motivation for the change to business. I am pleased that I have the opportunity here to combine my affinity for technology and new technologies with my experience in education.”

Find apprentices easier

Rüdiger Keinberger, CEO of Loxone, sees the training concept at the highest level due to the increase in personnel: “Loxone is only successful if our customers are successful. And we can support them both with our sustainable solution and with the meaningful work that results from intelligent building automation. We hear more and more often that apprenticeships are more likely to be filled if there is the option of not just installing conventional houses. The young generation finds itself in these issues, and we support our partners.”
