It was a special experience that biology teacher Eva Kupfer and national park ranger Hermann Jansesberger made possible for a small group of students from the BBS Weyer. As part of this year’s sports and nature day, they went in search of the lynx in the Hintergebirge. It was a unique experience, says Kupfer: “Yes, we can! We found and measured the track of the lynx Norik in the national park. And we were able to track it successfully. What a sensation!”
Then the photos of the next wildlife camera were evaluated. Lo and behold: Norik was snapped twice at this point the night before. “What an uplifting feeling to be standing exactly where the lynx crept past a few hours ago.” The BBS Weyer is a partner school of the Kalkalpen National Park and regularly carries out joint activities.
