Russia accuses Ukraine of trying to kill Putin with drones

Two drones headed for the Kremlin attempted to assassinate the president of RussiaVladimir putin, during the night of Tuesday, in what was considered a “planned terrorist action”. According to the Russian presidency, the two drones were disabled “thanks to the use of radar systems”, in an “attempted terrorist act and an attempt on the life of the president”.

Various unofficial videos circulated on social networks, including the channel of the military news outlet Zvezda, which showed a whitish smoke rising behind the main Kremlin Palacein the walled citadel, after the alleged incident.

The Russian authorities, for their part, accused Ukraine of the assassination attempt and, according to a statement released by various news agencies, no casualties were reported after the explosion.

“It has been decided ban drone flights in moscow from today, with the exception of unmanned vehicles authorized by central government institutions,” the city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said on Telegram.

From the Kremlin they assured that Putin was not affected and that Russia reserved the right to respond to this “attempt on the life of the president” and this “planned terrorist attack” by the Government of Ukraine.
