At the signing of the agreement, which took place last Tuesday, the president of Antel, Gabriel Gurmendez, the mayor of Maldonado, Enrique Antiathe general secretary of the IDM, Luis Eduardo Pereira and the Director General of Administration and Human Resources, michael abellaamong other authorities.
In Maldonado there are currently 1,319 cameras in operation and The mayor of Maldonado, Enrique Antía, stressed that “it would have been impossible to do it without the agreement with Antel -signed in 2016- because when planning began for video surveillance in Maldonado, the consultations with the different companies made it unfeasible until Antel approved it. understood and was a partner in this project.”
To explain the situation, by way of example, the mayor maintained that at the beginning there was only fiber optics in 30% of the department and it was possible to acquire the necessary base radio technology that Antel later installed and that allowed progress “to reach every corner of the department with image quality”.
Antía also highlighted Gurméndez for “a change in sensitivity, investing in the base of society” in relation to the arrival of Antel services in the Maldonado neighborhood. From the mayor’s office, they remarked that this project provides greater and better connectivity, and reinforces the Monitoring and Video Surveillance System and that “it is an example at the national level.”
The president of Antel, for his part, highlighted the development in Superintendent’s video surveillance. According to Gurméndez, this project has the objective of “improving territorial coverage and the number of spaces that will be monitored.” The public company will facilitate the exemptions and connectivity that will allow the installation of the 600 video surveillance posts.
