The quarrymen wanted to steal the Freistadt maypole a few years ago, but were caught red-handed. The coup finally succeeded yesterday at around half past two in the morning. The Freistadt tree was extremely heavy, say the members of the crew.
It was a long night for the thieves, because they also stole the maypole from the market square in Altenfelden and a maypole from a farm in St. Peter/Wimberg. The trigger is now being negotiated. Of course, you have Freistadt beer in mind.
