The Conaprole union threatens with force if the company refuses to negotiate

It requires a negotiation for the changes made from the company in the labor regime from the incorporation into machinery.

The union of the National Cooperative of Milk Producers (Conaprole) made it clear that, in the event that the company does not want to negotiate with the changes in the work regime carried out from the incorporation of machinery, they will carry out outside measures that are already defined.

The conflict arose from the incorporation of new machinery at the Ciudad Rodríguez plant in the department of San José. Luis Goichealeader of the union, in dialogue with the Underlined outlet, established that the company is violating the agreement necessary for negotiations when machinery is incorporated with the objective of preserve jobs.

“Today we are not with measures, but if this cannot be resolved, there are measures that could be applied in the coming days. We will be in the fourth intermission Thursday and Friday,” said the leader. The association called for the peace clause and conflict preventionwhich gives the company a period of 48 hours to respond.

In the event that there are no negotiations, the union assured that it already has defined force measures such as assemblies in all plants, that the management is in a permanent assembly and that work is carried out according to regulations.

Conaprole’s statement

Yesterday, the company published a statement in which it assures that it is open to negotiations and a “productive, mature and constructive dialogue that defends the entire dairy chain”. On the other hand, he described the conflict as “unfair and inexplicable” since, supposedly the company, this new machinery will not cause job losses and will not affect the salary or working conditions of the workers.

In this sense, they added that “the workers of the UHT sector work in regime of 9 hours from Monday to Friday, with incomes well above the national average” and took advantage of the fact that “despite this, they have very high levels of absenteeism.”
