Salzburg took a 2-0 lead against Rapid through Seikou Koita (18′, 62′). You had to get through the finish with one man less: Nicolas Capaldo saw yellow/red for unsportsmanlike behavior (67th). Referee Manuel Schüttengruber had previously given a hand penalty and stuck to his opinion even after the VAR check. Guido Burgstaller’s goal to make it 2-1 was not enough (70′).

Sturm Graz didn’t miss a beat in the 2-1 win over Austria: David Schnegg (21′) and Emanuel Emegha (43′) gave Styria the lead before the break. There was no sign of the cup celebrations after Austria’s Matan Baltaxa (53rd) scored the next goal.
