Tall, handsome and in a kilt: Johnny Thompson, Equerry (equerry) of the British king, attracted a lot of attention at the coronation in the church – as he did during the state visit of Charles and Camilla to Germany. There was a real hype on the internet because of his good looks.
The 39-year-old was Queen Elizabeth’s highest-ranking bodyguard and is now King Charles’ stable master. An equerry’s job is to see to the details of the king’s daily routine.
Harry only stayed in the country for 28 hours and 42 minutes
Prince Harry returned to the United States immediately after his father Charles was crowned. The 38-year-old, who retired from the royal family with his wife Meghan, was only in the UK for 28 hours and 42 minutes, according to the Mail newspaper. He arrived in California in time to celebrate the fourth birthday of son Prince Archie – who received no public congratulations from the palace. Wife Meghan stayed home with Archie and daughter Lilibet (almost 2).
Charles apparently complained about being unpunctual
Official comments are rare. And so British media likes to employ lipreaders at major events to find out what the royals actually have to say. The broadcaster Sky News claims to have found out that Charles (74) was pretty annoyed shortly before his coronation. The reason: small blunders in the meticulously clocked schedule. “We can never be on time,” said the king to his wife Camilla (75), when the couple had to sit in the carriage longer in front of Westminster Abbey.
