The union of workers of the supergas bottling plant acodike A new assembly began today to define the next measures in the midst of the conflict they have with the company, which “worried” after the completion of negotiations with the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS). Alert for a possible shortage of carafes.

The dialogue did not lead to a successful outcome in the supergas conflict, despite the fact that the proposal presented by the MTSS was accepted by the workers. The company’s refusal to agree to a conciliation between the parties, as explained by the union president Andres Guichon, it leaves the situation in a momentary stalemate, but it is possible that the context worsens.

The conflict will escalateWe don’t see any other way out,” Guichón said in statements to Channel 10. “The negotiation with the Ministry of Labor has ended. They seek to make work more precarious, ”he added, blaming Acodike for the continuity of the conflict that began due to the layoffs of 27 workers in early April.

You are missing work. This conflict is going to grow and it is not going to be left alone in supergas,” added the union’s president. of supergas packaging belonging to the National Administration of Fuel, Alcohol and Portland (Ancap), which was not fulfilled from anywhere. “They seek to make work more precarious and break up the union,” she added.

Concern over bottle shortages

One consequence of the conflict in the supergas is the possible shortage of bottles together with the arrival of increasingly cold temperatures. “If temperatures start to drop, you can start to see shortages (of carafes). We hope we don’t get to that point,” Guichón explained in this regard.

That would take place in front of seasonal increase in demand, due to the need to heat the rooms with supergas; while, in parallel, the workers’ conflict with Acodike keeps the company’s operations to a minimum.

From Ancap, for their part, they continue to maintain that the responsibility lies with private companiessince the entity did not put any condition, or restriction, or any economic term that would change the equation of Riogas —who fired 26 workers and did not sit down to negotiate afterwards— and Acodike to make that decision. On the other hand, he highlighted that in the bidding the rental cost was free and that the companies that submitted bids for two floors and two different rental terms.
