Two young players from Union Kefermarkt have come a big step closer to their dream of a successful career as a footballer: Severin Steinbichl (14 years old) from Kefermarkt and Fabian Bamberger (13 years old) from Elz have managed to get into the SV Guntamatic Ried football academy. For the two football fans from the Mühlviertel region, this means that they will be attending the Sport-Handelsakademie in Ried from the coming school year, which offers the young players an optimal combination of school and sporting training.
Side by side for eight years
Fabian and Severin’s football career began eight years ago in the U6 team at Union Kefermarkt, where they are clearly happy with “Sevi” and “Bamsti”. From then on, the two of them regularly flashed their enthusiasm for football and their sporting talent – and did not go unnoticed by various talent scouts: they trained and played for two years each, first in the sighting squad, then in the pre-squad and finally in the main squad of the Upper Austrian state training center Football Association in Linz (LAZ). Further stations were with Severin Steinbichl Blau-Weiß Linz and with Fabian Bamberger of LASK. In the current season, both are also in action in the U14 federal state championship for Upper Austria.
Learning vocabulary in the car
In their enthusiasm for football, Fabian and Severin receive the best possible support from their families. But school performance shouldn’t get under the wheels either: “Learning vocabulary while driving and learning for the chemistry test in the changing room are part of our everyday life. Without our parents it wouldn’t be possible to go to the Rieder training sessions and games throughout Austria get.”
