In the night of Sunday, the Linz city police command primarily focused on those drivers who were under the influence of alcohol and narcotics. The sad result of the extensive controls: Six drivers had their driving licenses taken away because their alcohol test either showed more than 0.8 per mil or they refused the test at all. Among the “refusers” was a probationary driver’s license holder who had only been in possession of a driver’s license for two weeks. A driver lost his driver’s license because he was under the influence of drugs.
Overall, the officials checked the alcohol content in the breath of 108 drivers. Two vehicle owners were summoned because their conversions did not comply with the regulations. There were also 86 reports and 13 organ mandates for other traffic offenses.
