Union Gurten has been unbeaten in the Regionalliga Mitte for six games. This series almost came to an end at the away game against Sankt Anna at the weekend. The home team took a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute thanks to Christoph Kobald.
In the 82nd minute, Gurten coach Peter Madritsch brought on striker Lukas Schlosser. The 22-year-old, who moved from Burghausen to Gurten last summer, scored the deserved equalizer for his team in the 88th minute. Gurten is fourth in the table with 49 points. Next Friday, May 26, at 7 p.m., the Madritsch team will welcome Germany’s fifth-placed side from Deutschlandsberg. With a win three rounds before the end of the season, fourth place could no longer be taken away from the Gurtners. The goal for the season was a place in the top five.
Clear victory for Young Vikings
After the last five games without a win (four defeats, one draw), the Junge Vikings received the SK Treibach (Carinthia) team, which was in danger of relegation. The second team of SV Ried did better on Saturday afternoon than the pros the night before. Josip Gabric gave Rieder the lead in the 36th minute. After an hour, Ben-Travis Wörndl, the strongest player on the pitch, made it 2-0 for the Innviertlers. In the 90th minute, Wörndl made it 3-0. A deserved victory for the Young Vikings, who are seventh in the table with 40 points.
On Friday, May 26, JW Ried will play against Kalsdorf in their home Josko Arena. Kick-off is at 7 p.m.
