After the successful premiere last year, all those athletes who can best combine stamina, willpower and a portion of courage are in demand again this year in Andorf. Because on Saturday, June 3rd, the second edition of the “ASVÖ PRAM.AT.Race powered by Sparkasse” will take place. The organizational team around Philipp Sageder has been in the intensive planning phase for the diverse and creatively designed obstacle course, which runs through the entire local area of the market community, for months. There are more than 17 obstacles to overcome for the participants along the entire route. The runners can choose from three different route lengths: six, twelve and 18 kilometers.

“It is important to us that the run is an event for everyone,” says Sageder. “With a minimum of training, for example, the six-kilometer route can be mastered by anyone. And with the obstacles, there is also an alternative replacement hurdle if it is too challenging for one or the other.” In general, it is very important to his team to offer people from the region the opportunity to do sports and compete. “We already have more than 190 registrations. We will certainly be able to welcome 200 runners from all over Upper Austria,” says Sageder.

“This is unique”

For the second edition, some innovations have also been made. This year, for the first time, the start will take place in the Andorf stadium, where the supporting program will also take place. Another premiere this year is the team event, for which many companies have already registered with their colleagues. In teams of three to eight people you can run for victory here. There will also be an after-show party in the stadium after the races. “But of course the focus is on athletic performance, both for professional athletes and for general runners,” says Sageder.

Despite its young history, the “PRAM.AT.Race” is already at a very high level in terms of professionalism. “What also makes the race so special is the variety of the route, which is already given due to the conditions in the Andorf landscape. That’s quite unique,” says the 26-year-old organizer, who, together with his team, just before three years ago founded ATV Pramtal as the new squad of the Andorf gymnastics club. “Even back then, it was our goal to get the general public across all age groups enthusiastic about playing sport together.” For this reason, the “PRAM.AT.Race” starts this year with the “Sparefroh Children’s Run” at 10 a.m. The adult runners will then start at 2 p.m. Until then there is still a lot to do for Philipp Sageder and his team. “The past few months have been intense. But we have a lot of fun with our work, everyone puts their heart into it,” says the man from Andorf, looking forward to the next successful edition.
