The association “Kultur am Pienkenhof” founded by Heinz Reiter and Ilse Wagner near Kefermarkt, Wittinghof village, is in the starting blocks for a promising cultural summer 2023 with great confidence.

In 2008, the two were inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s words “You can lay the foundation for something for the future, because you can build the future” and began as leaseholders of the Pienkenhof, which was once barely survivable and which was sold to the community in 1960 due to the uneconomical situation and water shortage Kefermarkt was sold to build a remarkable cultural future. For 15 years now you can breathe the best cultural mountain air in a natural oasis surrounded by forest under the old “Pawlatsch”.

The “Cultural Summer at the Pienkenhof 2023” – this year with a mix of concerts, readings and theater – starts on Saturday, June 10th at 8 p.m. with “The Beer Buddies Blues Band” and ends on August 5th with the great accordion Trio Ensemble “Diatonic Expeditions”.

If you would like to combine an idea of the cultural summer with switching off in nature, tranquility, perhaps with frogs croaking from the house pond, the natural summer at the Pienkenhof is the perfect choice. In the 3000 m² “Naturgarten Pienkenhof” you can admire around 200 signposted medicinal and poisonous plants (admission € 2.50).

Heinz Reiter is a qualified naturopath and herbalist and also offers guided tours for groups. Visitors can also use the “Pienkenhof nature trail”. Starting at the Pienkenhof, the free, two-kilometre-long circular trail leads down into the romantic Feldaisttal, from there over steep, secured terrain back to the farm. Sure-footedness and good footwear are required. All of this can also be explored on Pentecost Sunday (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at an open garden day.

Heinz Reiter, Ilse Wagner and their entire team are particularly proud of the Pienkenhof’s cultural offerings: “The association does not receive any funding – whether from the federal, state or local government. Our sponsors are solely the many satisfied and loyal visitors.”
