Six teams fought for victory in the first Roundnet or Spikeball tournament at the JKU. Spikeball is a team sport in which the two players on a team hit a ball onto a taut net – preferably in such a way that the opposing team doesn’t catch the ball before it hits the ground. The sport is well received, the first World Cup was held last year.

At the Kepler University, teams from the Vienna University of Technology, the University of Vienna, the University of Leoben, the University of Innsbruck and the JKU Linz competed against each other. In the end, the Vienna University of Technology prevailed and can now call itself “Austrian Academic Master”. The University of Innsbruck took third place ahead of the University of Leoben. The JKU brought up the rear.
