He’s never been squeamish – on social media, that seems to be increasing with ex-SP country boss Josef Ackerl (77). With the words “The Linz chief intriguer is speaking again” Ackerl reacts on Twitter to the criticism that the Mayor of Linz Klaus Luger (SP) has expressed in the OÖN on some positions of the new SP boss Andreas Babler. “Luger against Tempo 100 and vote on coalition. Hard criticism of Babler. Read in the OÖN,” said Ackerl in his tweet.
The two SP politicians have shared a deep dislike for years, which Ackerl repeatedly fuels in his postings. Years ago, Ackerl announced on Facebook that he would no longer hold back “regarding the mayor’s political activities” and that he did not want to “dwarf himself” just to be able to discuss with “someone on an equal footing”.
At the time, SP National Council mandarin Dietmar Keck spoke out in defense of Luger: Ackerl should “enjoy his lavish former politician’s pension and finally look for a meaningful hobby away from politics,” Keck replied on Facebook at the time.
This time, too, Ackerl sparked approval and opposition on Twitter. A spokesman for Luger, who prophesied that Babler would be history after the next national elections while Luger would still be mayor, was answered by Ackerl: “Babler will probably become chancellor and Luger a pensioner. There are very capable young people in the SP Linz in managerial positions. “
