The registration phase for the Digitalos, the country’s largest digital prize, is in full swing: Austrian companies can apply in the following categories at digitalos.at until October 7th – digital start-ups, digital personality, digital project, digital transformation. The woman who stands out for her achievements is awarded the title “Digitalia”.

Numerous companies have already taken their chance and applied, for example the Digital Blocks Ltd from Schörfling am Attersee. The company, run by Josef Zauner and Julian Mehlig, helps managers of craft businesses to run their business with 50 percent less time and to manage new employees and apprentices. With their “Digital Instruction” project, they have broken up the analogue topic of employee instruction. Since joint face-to-face training is difficult for employees who work a lot on construction sites, they consume the content via video, do an online knowledge test and receive the certificate by e-mail. “Digital Blocks” has applied in the “Digital Project” category.

For more than ten years, Adelheid Brunner has been writing texts on her Facebook page “Old Knowledge” almost every day. It describes the effects of local medicinal plants, tells of customs and helps people to turn back to nature. Her page has almost 130,000 subscribers, she is also present on YouTube. Brunner applied as a “digital personality”.

Digital training
The business model of the BMD Academy of the Steyr software provider has changed due to lockdowns and home office. The acceptance of online training and education has received an unexpected boost from one day to the next. The BMD Academy took advantage of the moment. Training as a payroll accountant and bookkeeper is offered online, for example. This is intended to accommodate people with care responsibilities, for example. BMD has applied for the “Digital Transformation” category: Companies that have converted an analogue to a digital business model can submit entries here.
The award ceremony will take place on November 16th in the Linz tobacco factory. All applicants are invited.
