What do the Czechs do differently than their corporate colleagues from Germany or Spain? The parts shelf is largely the same, but Skoda hits one automotive direct hit after another. After the approval emperor Octavia, there is also the king of electric cars, the Enyaq. At its peak, right after the market launch, the delivery time added up to more than 18 months, that’s how popular the SUV model was. Back then, more than 800 Enyaq rolled off the production line in Mlada Boleslav every day. Nothing more was possible, capacity was exhausted. And yet Skoda brought a second Enyaq variant, the SUV coupe. Raised, SUV design but flattened at the back. Sleek, dynamic, aerodynamic. We got into the iV 80.

Design: Skoda can do it easily. The interior is huge – a typical feature of every model from the town north of Prague. Externally, the brand drifted away from Czech design towards a European look, which is not only popular between Portugal and Romania, but also in many other countries around the world. A smart curve here, a clear edge there – Skoda knows how design works. Only the still typically Czech radiator grille provides a reason for discussions about optics. Especially because the crystal grill can be illuminated. A stroke of genius or an absurdity? Everyone can decide this for themselves.
Inner space: As mentioned: huge! Skoda uses the space and creates clear structures. In the center is the powerful touchscreen, which visually dominates the cockpit. The rest of the switches and rockers are no mystery either. Only the infotainment system now and then turns into dead ends. But the 180-degree turnaround is done quickly.

So that adults in the back seat don’t complain about a lack of headroom due to the flattened roof, Skoda pulled the glass roof up to the tailgate, eliminating the headliner. This meant that the Czechs gained crucial centimeters. The huge tailgate and the very good trunk volume of 570 liters, which can be expanded up to 1610 liters, are practical for families.
Landing gear: The all-wheel drive vehicle didn’t even come close to reaching the grip limit in the OÖN test – strong! The 21-inch alloy wheels (1521 euros extra, net) rolled away all the bumps.
Engine: The drive is sporty and fuel consumption is low. At least in summer, when the 2,336 kilogram Czech rolls along the country roads. The display then shows 18.6 kWh consumption. In winter, a nervous right foot can increase electricity consumption to more than 26 kWh. The range in the OÖN test was 401 kilometers.
Conclusion: Skoda and reliability: The Czechs have brought the next model with a wow effect. Low consumption, visually appealing interior, practical layout, strong technology (LED matrix headlights, etc.) – the SUV coupé showed in the OÖN test why the Enyaq remains in great demand.
