A person was arrested today in Washington, United States, after crashed his car into an exterior door of the White Housethe Secret Service reported.
“Shortly before 6 p.m., a vehicle collided with an exterior gate of the White House complex,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said on the X social network.
“The driver was detained and we are investigating the cause and manner of the collision,” the official added, according to NBC News television.
Guglielmi warned that the incident could cause traffic problems at the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, on the east side of the White House, near the Treasury building.
The White House fence was improved in recent years and even raised.
In 2021, the National Park Service built a 14-foot-high fence, with wider, stronger posts, to deter anyone thinking about jumping over it.
