A 29-year-old sustained serious injuries to both legs on Wednesday at his workplace in Linz: The man from Mühlviertel was handling a so-called pipe spool on the premises of a mechanical engineering company when the serious accident occurred around ten o’clock. The 2-ton spool tipped over and fell at close range onto the worker, who became trapped underneath.
Work colleagues rushed to help and lifted the pipe coil using a crane. The man sustained such serious injuries that he had to be treated by an emergency doctor and taken to a hospital, the police said on Wednesday afternoon.
