Residents of Ukraine are asking the country’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to cancel the order of the Ministry of Defense, according to which hundreds of thousands of women will be put on military registration. The corresponding petition is registered on the website of the head of state.
Activists called the situation “disgrace” and “bullying of women.”
“Cancel the order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine dated 11.10.2021 No. 313 !!! Use only the list of those specialties, which are determined by the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 711 of 10/14/1994 … It seems that only the list has changed, but according to it, almost all women in our state should be liable for military service, ”the text of the appeal says.
The petition was registered on December 23, for consideration by the president, it must collect 25 thousand signatures in 90 days. At present, more than 6.8 thousand signatures have already been collected.
On December 17, an order of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine came into force, approving the list of industries and professions for which working women should be put on military registration and be on it. The list contains 35 professional areas, each of which, in fact, represents dozens of separate specialties of economic activity.
On December 26, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained that pregnant women and women with small children would also be registered for military service.
