A few minutes before midnight, seven people between the ages of 48 and 67 and a nine-year-old child stepped onto a wooden bridge that extends from the terrace on the first floor of the house. There the eight people wanted to toast the new year. When counting down the New Year’s Eve countdown, the eight people should have moved in the same rhythm.
The rotten structure then collapsed, and according to the police, the people fell around three meters and remained lying on a meadow. Four people were injured, two of whom are believed to have sustained more serious injuries. The accident victims were brought to the hospitals in Wels and Kirchdorf by several emergency medical teams. The police have started investigations into the exact course of the accident.
