The state cleared the way for parking space management at Lake Gosau

There is still a grace period in Ebensee: you will probably not have to pay for a parking space at Langbath and Offensee until after the summer. The necessary municipal council resolution will not be passed until the end of September. As reported, a day ticket will cost eight euros, and hourly tickets will also be available in the future.

In Gosau, everything could go a little faster. As the State Councilor for Infrastructure, Günther Steinkellner (FP), announced yesterday, the Gosauseestraße (L1291) will be “reorganized” into a municipal road over a section of around 1.5 kilometers. This also includes the previously free parking spaces at Gosausee.

The municipal council’s decision to allow parking space management there was made on Monday in a special meeting. Yesterday, the municipality founded the operating company “Gosau Lacus GmbH”, and Mayor Markus Schmaranzer (VP) will be its unpaid managing director. “If everything goes well, I expect that we can start by the end of August,” he says.

Day ticket for ten euros

A day ticket for the large parking areas for hikers will cost ten euros, two days will cost 15 euros and three days will cost 20 euros. The parking spaces that are available in the vicinity of the guest house will remain in the short-term parking zone. Three hours will cost six euros. The municipality will announce further details in due course.

According to Steinkellner, parking space management should not only direct the flow of visitors, but also give communities the opportunity to use parking revenues to provide sufficient tourist infrastructure, such as sanitary facilities.
