Two ministers from the Colorado Party line up behind Pedro Bordaberry

The sector Citizens of the Colorado Party announced his support for the List 10 that heads Pedro Bordaberry, who, a week after his return to politics, appears as a strong figure within the space that threatens to dispute the leadership of Andres Ojeda.

Bordaberry’s return to the electoral scene, heading a ballot for the Senate, It generated strong optimism within the PC, with some figures even daring to dream of the force entering the runoff.

In this sense, the decision of Ciudadanos represents a strong support, taking into account that it is the sector that brings together the ministers of the Colorado Party. Thus, the official support of Gabriel Gurméndez, the ministers’ one is added Fernando Mattos (Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries), Robert Bouvier (Environment), as well as the mayor of Rivera, Richard Sander.

“Today, this sector, which has a number of high-quality colleagues representing us, wants to inform you that Ciudadanos is going to wear the 10 in October. It is going to work with Pedro Bordaberry in view of these elections on October 27, with its slogan Let’s go Uruguay and List 10,” the deputy announced Walter Cervini from the Acuña de Figueroa room of the annex building of the Legislative Palace.

The agreement with Gurméndez

Previously, Bordaberry had crystallized the support of Gurméndez and List 15 for his nomination to the Senate facing the elections 2024. “We will be together towards October and towards the future. We are united by ideas, priorities for the future. Uruguay, the shared experience in government, and the vocation to serve,” said the former president of Antel.

And he stressed: “We come to contribute to the Colorado Party, to add to it and complement the campaign of Andres Ojeda and achieve that the Republican Coalition be a government, for the good of Uruguayans and the country.”

Gurméndez considered that “the themes of our campaign are the same ones that Pedro emphasizes,” in reference to his proposals for the primaries and stated: “We put at the service of the Colorado Party the best women and the best men, technicians and professionals, our technical teams, the best, to strengthen the legislative action and give support, confidence and experience to the next government of the Coalition.”

“We are going to consolidate, side by side, jointly, and in a great joint effort, a unitary block that will add more Colorados to grow, and that will have the best Senate and the greatest political representation, which will be expressed electorally in List 10 and in the sub-lemma. “Let’s go Uruguay!” he concluded.
