Peru will limit coronavirus tests to certain sections of the population

Regarding the third wave of the pandemic that is going through the country, Cevallos warned that infections increase every two days, which is why he urged the population to comply with prevention measures.

“In the last week we have gone from 26,000 infections to almost 88,000; it is a vertical ascent of cases; and the projection we make is that the amount will double every two days; Fortunately, the Omicron variant is not so aggressive, but there are also cases of complications and deaths, ”said the minister.

In this framework, the National Civil Service Authority (Servir) urged the heads of public entities to order the application of remote work for employees whose functions are compatible with this type of work, as a preventive measure against the increase of the cases.

For those positions in which remote work is not possible, other measures can be provided such as the application of mixed modalities, the license with the benefit of having subject to subsequent compensation for the risk group and labor collaboration, said the Andina agency.

According to the institution, state employees who perform face-to-face work are required to have the complete vaccination schedule.

In this context, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pedro Francke, tested positive for the diagnosis of Covid-19, so he began his isolation and will work from home, according to the portfolio.

Francke was periodically tested for the face-to-face work that he had been developing, despite receiving three doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

According to a statement from the Economy, reported by the state agency Andina, it is “stable, complying with health protocols, as well as medical indications.”
