Kiev announced the absence of Russian provocations on the border with Ukraine

There are no provocations from Russia on the border with Ukraine. This was announced on Wednesday, January 12, by the deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Mary Hakobyan.

“We are closely watching what is happening. We do not see provocations on the very border from the Russian Federation, ”Hakobyan said in an interview with the Ukrainian edition of LB.ua.

In recent weeks, a number of Western media outlets have reported about the alleged plans of the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine. So, on January 7, The New York Times drew up and published a map with the alleged location of Russian troops along the border with Ukraine.

On January 10, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, following the results of Russian-American consultations on security guarantees in Geneva, said that Russia had no intentions to attack Ukraine and could not be. All military training activities are carried out within Russian territory.

On December 30, the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, said that the organization does not see a great danger from the Russian military at its borders. According to him, the deployment of the Russian military “is not critical”, and Russia itself “is not at all ready for an offensive now.”

On December 25, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that Russia had never attacked anyone first. He stressed that the statements of Ukraine and the United States about the “aggressive actions” of Russia are being made in order to deploy more NATO military equipment near the country’s borders.

On December 23, during a press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin answered a question about alleged plans to invade Ukraine. According to him, such statements give the impression that the Ukrainian side is “preparing a third operation” in Donbass.
