According to the plaintiffs, the new increases are considered “disproportionate, unreasonable and confiscatory” and the lawsuit requests to order the companies to refrain from requiring or pursuing the “collection of any sum of money based on the aforementioned regulation” and/or from providing a “new pricing and tariff schemes” for public services of electricity, gas and water. In addition, the organizations convened a national blackout next Thursday, October 31 at 9 p.m. against the high rate.

The objective of the lawsuit is to declare the “unconstitutionality and absolute and incurable nullity“of DNU 55/2023, DNU 70/2023, Resolutions 02/04, 101/2024, 10 2/2024, 199/2024, 104/2024, 105/2024, 198/24 and 335/24 of the National Regulatory Entity of Electricity, Decree 465/24, Resolutions 115/24, 264/24, 608/24 and cctes of the ENARGAR, Resolutions 7/24, 90/24, 91/24, 93/24 of the Ministry of Energy. , Resolution 5/24 and 9/24 of the ERAS and the “rate tables that arise from them.”

For its part, Adrian Ganinoone of the coordinators of the Multisector Forum against Tarifazos, maintains that “this priceless scheme increasingly degrades purchasing power and increases inequalities”. “Putting a stop to high tariffs is necessary and urgent,” he concluded.

“Users of Public Services have the right to information and transparency in how the ruler manages public goods. Energy, gas and water is a public good and a Human Right “which is above the interest of the markets,” they highlighted in the lawsuit filed.

Finally, both organizations called for a national blackout throughout the country “against high rates.” The same will take place on next Thursday, October 31 from 9:00 p.m. to 9:10 p.m.
