The animal welfare organization Animal Welfare League of Arlington reported on Monday on its Facebook page that the bird was caught “sneaking around” the Pentagon security area outside the gates of the US capital Washington.
The organization’s employees who were summoned caught the animal and took it to an animal shelter until a new home could be found. Meanwhile, a name for the poultry is being sought on Facebook. Among the suggestions were creations like “Special Agent Henny Penny” or “Colonel MC Hicken, Chief of Air Operations for the Joint Staff”.
The newspaper “Military Times”, which specializes in defense policy, also dealt with the chicken in a humorous article. “Did it just get lost trying to cross the street? Or was it a spy sent to steal state secrets? So far its beak is closed.”
