It is one of the smallest higher schools in Austria, but wants to show what lessons and educational mediation can be. The rose, the high school for digital humanism, has been working well for eleven years and can now be happy to be one of the five finalists of the ISB Foundation Award Education innovation. “For us, this is an award and confirmation of the work by showing new educational paths,” says Eva Cifrain-Liebtholz, Managing Director of the Private School Conservation Association, which currently teaches 117 students in five classes.

The responsible persons of the former state award for innovative schools awarded every two years see in the rose one of the “outstanding examples of how education can be designed in a future -oriented and effective manner”.

Jury comes today

A jury of the foundation award will attend the school in Linz this morning to get to know the innovative approaches there. After that, it will be clear whether it may even be enough for the first prize endowed with 15,000 euros. For the Rose team, however, the fact that it is one of the five finalists is a great success.

The rose in the Linz tobacco factory has had its school building for four years and has moved here by Steyr. The larger catchment area of ​​Linz has had an impact. “We were able to create a transition class,” says Cifrain-Liebtholz in an OÖN conversation. Nache: “The rose is blooming very nicely.”
