ChatGPT creator believes that with AI there will be fewer jobs and proposes a basic income in cryptocurrencies

ChatGPT creator Sam Altman has written an essay about what he thinks will be the age of artificial intelligence (AI), saying he believes humans should be paid basic cryptocurrencies in the absence of jobs.

Employment. Across 45 economies, encompassing 673 million workers, AI is expected to create 69 million new jobs.

ChatGPT creator Sam Altman wrote an article describing how he envisions the world when AI is at its peak. The article entitled “Moore’s Law for everything” was written in March 2021. There he proposes the payment of a basic income in cryptocurrencies in the face of what he believes will be the massive lack of employment.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says that “as AI produces most of the world’s basic goods and services, people will be able to spend more time with the people they care about, care for others, appreciate art and nature, or work for the social good”.

In the article he also argues that a society can be sustained when taxes are imposed on corporations and land, which are the sources of wealth, and the tax is distributed equally among the people.

For Altman, in the society of the future, humans will not work. Therefore, the solution he found is to tax the principal. That is to say, The producers of goods and services will be the ones who will pay taxes and the proceeds should be distributed directly among the members of society.

According to his utopian vision of the future, people who are not capital producers will receive a fixed income, and will spend their lives traveling, sleeping, eating, or any activity that does not involve working. According to the human beings in partners, in the sense in which everyone would be shareholders of what is produced in the world.

According to his calculations, the value of companies will increase in the next 10 years, so individuals could receive an allowance of $13,500 each year.

“As AI accelerates growth, the dividend increases. As technology will lower the cost of goods and services, $13,500 could provide significant purchasing power for everyone. Effective purchasing power will increase dramatically every year,” said Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI.
