Scorpions leader talks about new Rock Believer album

On February 25, the Scorpions release their new studio album, Rock Believer. In an interview with Izvestia, Scorpions founder Rudolf Schenker said that the group’s first album in the last seven years is intended for “all people around the world who believe in rock.” He also admitted that the band had big plans for the 50th anniversary celebration of the band’s very first album, Lonesome Crow.

“If it weren’t for the ‘crown’ that rules the world right now, we would have had a grand celebration. I confess, we planned an anniversary concert this year. Even our very first drummer Wolfgang Zioni had to participate in it. But the “corona” ruined all these plans,” Schenker said.

According to Schenker, the band took advantage of the pandemic to record Rock Believer.

“We made a cool album. Working on it, we got to the very essence, to the very heart and – even – to the very DNA of Scorpions! We wanted to create something very special. The musician also explained why the cover of the new disc is blood red. According to him, it symbolizes “the very heart of the Scorpions,” he says.
