Food for the climate?

Food for the climate?
A lot of fruits and vegetables

Have fun with!

Cocoa out of a packet, and that every day shortly after 10 a.m. – what used to be considered the healthiest thing for school children would no longer occur to anyone today. Or to put it another way: Recommendations change, both in terms of health and climate. The Food Pyramid 2.0, proposed by the WWF, just continues on a path that society should be moving along anyway: less meat, more legumes. Less well-travelled, more regional.

Of course, all of this can taste just as good as what was yesterday. It’s all about rethinking, shopping differently, letting other things become normal. Have fun learning!

CONS

Small steps please

Our ancestors got through the winter with potatoes and sauerkraut. If you want to eat seasonally and regionally and minimize animal products, you will still find a very limited range today. Also, not everything that we have come to love grows with us – such as pepper, cocoa or coffee. Anyone who really forbids everything that harms the climate will quickly despair.

Therefore: small steps, please. First you have to understand why the apple from Africa and meat every day is not a good idea. Instead of doing without, the second step is to show good alternatives. And allow exceptions. Because sometimes an espresso or chocolate after a meal is simply good for us.
