Knowledge, technological innovation and productive development

The wave of technological innovations has called into question the concept of traditional work and is committed to giving space to new forms and modalities of employment.

In terms of productive investment, technological innovation is the pillar of the new labor relations and work of the future, the promotion of infrastructure, technology as an allied tool.

Knowledge, technological innovation and production development go hand in hand. These are the true foundations of growing countries. We must contribute to this and be responsible when it comes to wanting a prosperous country, each one from our home, so that they become once and for all a priority on the social agenda.

To achieve this, we must all be protagonists of this new era. The future will not forgive those who abdicate knowledge. They say that the machines take over the work of humans, even with jobs in general.

This problem divides politics and has it in full debate, depending on the ideology from which it is analyzed. From the Left they insist that workers are made precarious and labor rights are subjugated; from the Right they beg for a fiscal pardon but they do not adapt to the new technologies. Technological changes in knowledge and technological innovation conditional on a new paradigm in the world labor market.

For example, much of the agitation for Universal Basic Income is based on the belief that jobs are becoming increasingly scarce as globalization and robotics advance. Predictions are tough, but the future of work is just around the corner. Automation is not the problem, technological disruptions are not a phenomenon that destroys jobs, quite the contrary.

Some sectors that ignore the different dimensions of the subject, attribute this problem to globalization, modernization and the future. But they are far from being the cause of unemployment, stagnant wages and increasing inequality in the labor market.

One of the problems is that the labor market is not sharing the fruits of technological change. Technological advances are making job tasks easier, but at the same time contributing to lower unemployment and new wages. The traditional conception of employment is giving way to a model where flexibility and the use of technology constitute the basis of economic development. In a labor market where the value of work is no longer as important as before, workers will have no choice but to create value through process innovations and the development of new products. Therefore, the threat of structural and increasing unemployment requires urgent action policies on the part of governments and economic agents. Otherwise, job instability will lead to serious problems and, probably, socio-political changes of unsuspected violence
