At about eight in the morning, an explosion occurred on the territory of an Orthodox gymnasium near the Vvedensky Vladychny nunnery in Serpukhov near Moscow: an improvised device went off.
According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region, at 8:24 am, an 18-year-old graduate of this educational institution Vladislav Struzhenkov entered the gymnasium on Oktyabrskaya Street and set off an explosion.
As a result of the explosion, according to unconfirmed reports, 12 people were injured, including a 15-year-old boy who received lacerations and burns.
According to some reports, Struzhenkov himself died. However, as the source of Izvestia reports, no one approaches him because of the possibility that a graduate of a gymnasium has a second device, so it is impossible to say exactly what state he is in at the moment.
“Struzhenkov’s leg was torn off as a result of the explosion, and he was able to crawl into the building of the gymnasium. Now a graduate of an Orthodox gymnasium is alone there, nothing is known about his condition, ”the message of Telegram-channel 112 says.
According to a RBC source in the territorial police department, there could have been more victims in the explosion in the Orthodox gymnasium if the door had not been closed in the room where the morning prayer was taking place at the time of the explosion. According to the staff of the gymnasium, the premises are usually open at this time, but this time the door was closed. In addition, the source added that immediately after the explosion, Struzhenkov tried to barricade himself inside, but he was detained.
A local resident in an interview with Izvestia said that the guard at the gymnasium was an elderly woman.
A TASS source said that a possible reason for the graduate’s act was his conflict with other students and teachers.
“Perhaps in this way he decided to take revenge. Whether there really was a conflict, it will be established during the investigation, “- said the interlocutor of the agency.
As the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrei Vorobyov noted, all the services involved worked smoothly.
“All services reacted on time, doctors help the injured children, nothing threatens their lives. The regional prosecutor is now in place, and a detailed investigation will be carried out, ”he wrote.
The Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case on the fact of attempted murder and illegal circulation of explosives on the territory of the monastery.
