People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Lebedev turns 100

People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Lebedev celebrates his centenary on December 15.

The theater management and stage colleagues: People’s Artists of the Russian Federation Valentina Talyzina, Yevgeny Steblov, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Guseva and others are congratulating the artist of the Mossovet Theater, a front-line actor. Another people’s artist and former colleague at the Mossovet theater, Alexander Domogarov, will also come to congratulate the birthday man.

The hero of the day will receive congratulations from the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin and the head of the Moscow Department of Culture Alexander Kibovsky.

According to the press service of the theater, on Lebedev’s birthday, they will be awarded the badge of distinction “For services to Moscow.” The celebration of the birthday of the theater and cinema artist Lebedev will take place on December 15 at 13:00 Moscow time.

Lebedev was born on December 15, 1921 in Moscow. From 1939 to 1946 he served at the Moscow Theater for Young Spectators. In the spring of 1941, the artist was drafted into the army, and in June, with the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he went to the front. During the war, Lebedev also experienced the horrors of concentration camps. In 1950, he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School (course of Viktor Stanitsyn) and was admitted to the Mossovet Theater, in which he is still employed.

The actor has 70 roles in the theater and more than 50 in the cinema. At the Mossovet Theater, the artist played in performances with Faina Ranevskaya, Lyubov Orlova, Rostislav Plyatt, Georgy Zhzhenov. Among his films – the film “Eternal Call”, “Crew”, “Star of Captivating Happiness”, “Evdokia” and many, many others.

In 2018, the actor was awarded the title of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation.
