Silver medalist at the 1980 Olympic Games, skier Nina Rocheva died at the age of 73. This was announced on Saturday, January 8, by the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Komi Republic.
“In addition to glorious sporting achievements, for all of us Nina Petrovna will be remembered for her kindness, sensitivity, modesty and responsiveness. Her diligence and dedication allowed her to achieve high achievements in her professional career, ”the statement says.
The press service noted that Nina Rocheva was a reliable support in the family, was always ready to help and support.
“We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Nina Rocheva, the memory of this bright person will forever remain in our hearts,” the message says.
In addition to the silver medal of the Games in Lake Placid in the relay, Rocheva has one gold (1974) and one bronze (1978) medal in the relay at the world championships. She is also a three-time USSR champion.
