Questioning limiting beliefs, the key to developing a resilient mindset

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from adversity and overcome life’s challenges. It’s the secret ingredient that allows some people to thrive in the face of hardship.

To develop a resilient outlook, it is important to understand the deep “Rules of the Mind” and use them to overcome your most limiting beliefs.

The mind does what it thinks you want it to do. In that sense, The mind is constantly trying to protect us and meet our needs. If we tell our mind that we want something, it will work to help us achieve it.

Imagination is more powerful than knowledge when it comes to the mind: it responds more strongly to imagination than to facts or logic. By using the imagination to create vivid images and scenarios, we can influence the mind to create the outcome we most desire.

The mind responds to the images and words it hears. Therefore, the language we use and the images we create have a significant impact on thoughts, feelings and actions. By using visualization techniques and positive language, we can empower ourselves to direct our minds toward success in every area of life.

The mind is programmed to move towards pleasure and away from pain. Naturally seek out experiences that bring you pleasure and avoid those that cause pain. Therefore, by associating positive feelings with one’s goals, it creates a powerful motivating force that helps overcome challenges and achieve success.

To develop resilience, it is essential to use these rules to our advantage. For example, using positive language and visualization techniques can be a powerful tool to help us overcome obstacles and achieve our goals.

How to overcome limiting beliefs

The limiting beliefs are negative thoughts that prevent us from reaching our full and unlimited potential. To develop a resilient mindset, it is essential to identify and overcome these beliefs. Some of the most common limiting beliefs say that “I’m not good enough”, “I don’t deserve it”, “It’s not available to me”.

A good plan to overcome limiting beliefs is to try these effective strategies: First identify limiting beliefs, recognize the negative thoughts that hold us back and write them down.

The truth is that by bringing these beliefs to the surface, we can begin to question and replace them.

Then, question the belief: ask if the belief is true and look for evidence to the contrary. It is often the case that our limiting beliefs are not based in reality and can be dismantled with logic and reason.

The next step is to replace the belief: create a new positive belief to replace the old one. For example, instead ofe “I am not good enough”, “I am capable and deserve success”.

One of the ways for new beliefs to be integrated effectively is through Rapid Transformational Therapy (or RTT), a technique developed by the English therapist Marisa Peer, and that uses hypnosis as the main method. By repeatedly listening to the indicated words, after the session, for 30 days in a row, we try to strengthen these new beliefs.

In short, it is essential to reprogram the mind in order to develop a resilient outlook. To do this, one of the keys is to identify, review and modify limiting beliefs, those walls that we invent and that seem to have always been there. Without them, the path will be much more satisfying and successful.
