Russia has deployed Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun systems (ZRPK) to Belarus. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Saturday, January 29.

“The units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation involved in the verification of the reaction forces of the Union State continue to redeploy to the Republic of Belarus. Another train echelon delivered the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and gun division of the Eastern Military District to the unloading station.

The ZRPK division that arrived in Belarus includes 12 combat vehicles, each of which can carry 12 anti-aircraft missiles.

The Ministry clarified that after unloading, the personnel will march to the specified areas, where they will equip positions and take up combat training duty as part of the Unified Regional Air Defense System of Belarus and Russia.

The verification of the forces of the Union State will take place in two stages. At the first (until February 9) stage, they will redeploy and create groupings of troops on the territory of Belarus. On the second (from February 10 to February 20), joint exercises “Allied Resolve-2022” will be held.

On January 27, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Viktor Gulevich, said that the joint Belarusian-Russian exercises “Allied Resolve – 2022” are purely defensive in nature. According to him, the purpose of the audit is to improve the training of the Armed Forces.

Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Russian Su-35S fighters had completed the redeployment of Russian Su-35S fighters in Belarus as part of the Allied Resolve 2022 exercise. After arriving in Belarus, the fighter crews will take up combat duty for air defense.
