Refrigerator ship caught fire at the pier in Vladivostok

At the berth in the port of Vladivostok, a fire broke out on a refrigerator ship. This was announced on Thursday, February 3, by the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Primorsky Territory.

“According to operational data, on February 3, at about five o’clock in the morning (22:00 Wednesday Moscow time), the fire and rescue service received a message about a fire on a refrigerator ship moored at the pier on Krygina Street, Vladivostok. Within three minutes, firefighters were working on the spot, ”the press service of the department said.

It is noted that at the time of the arrival of firefighters from the laundry room on the second deck was smoke. At the same time, 18 people who were on board managed to evacuate the ship before the arrival of emergency personnel.

The department said there were no injuries or deaths. The fire damaged the ship in an area of ​​10 sq. m.

Nine units of fire equipment and 39 personnel were involved in the extinguishing, the Ministry of Emergency Situations added.

The causes of the incident and the culprit of the fire are established.

On January 23, a fire broke out on the ship Almuntazah in the Black Sea, 5 km from Cape Zhelezny Rog. The tanker was carrying over 700 tons of fuel oil. From Novorossiysk, two multifunctional rescue vessels “Rescuer Demidov” and “Mercury” arrived at the scene of the fire.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident, the crew was evacuated.

The press service of Rosmorrechflot said that there are no traces of water pollution in the Black Sea, where a fire broke out on a tanker flying the flag of the Comoros.
