From Wednesday events of 100 people or more will be officially prohibited until September 1st, in the two “high incidence communities” Innervillgraten and Oberlienz already from 50 people. For the latter two municipalities there is also an exit test from Wednesday until August 24th.
The compulsory exit test does not apply to those who have been vaccinated with full immunization or those who have recovered with a Covid vaccination, it was emphasized. In addition, an FFP2 mask requirement was prescribed for indoor and outdoor events in East Tyrol as well as in retail. Registration is also mandatory for all events, the country announced in a broadcast. These measures also apply from Wednesday to September 1st.
East Tyrol currently has a seven-day incidence of 332. With the measures, the state is based on the federal high incidence decree, which provides for further measures to combat the coronavirus for areas with an incidence of 300 or more, it said. As of Monday morning, 207 people in the district were infected with the corona virus. According to the state, this resulted in a value of 425 active positives per 100,000 inhabitants. In the Lienz hospital, however, the situation was very stable: only four patients had to be treated there, two of them in intensive care units. In total, there were initially only three Covid intensive care patients in Tyrol.
Compulsory departure test in communities with a high incidence
“We are currently registering high numbers of infections in East Tyrol with a comparatively below-average vaccination rate,” said the head of the Corona task force, Elmar Rizzoli, explaining the procedure. Above all, those who return to travel and who test positive after their return home, as well as “chains of infection in families and in companies”, would pose great challenges for those responsible.
The municipalities of Innervillgraten and Oberlienz, which are subject to an exit test from midnight on Wednesday, would have a comparatively high seven-day incidence of 1,205 and 685, respectively. The test obligation applies – with the exception of those who have been fully immunized and those who have recovered with a partial vaccination – for all people who have stayed in the two municipal areas and want to leave the municipality – regardless of their place of residence and regardless of how long they stayed there. A negative PCR test that is not older than 72 hours or a negative antigen test that is not older than 48 hours is considered proof. Also exempt from the obligation to test are people who, for example, only travel through Oberlienz on the Felbertauernstraße without stopping in order to get from the rear Iseltal to Lienz, for example.
