More than ten thousand people demonstrated in Berlin after a call from left-wing politician Sahra Wagenknecht and women’s rights activist Alice Schwarzer. They hope for a new German peace movement.
An elderly man is standing among thousands of people in the freezing sleet, flags with the symbol of the peace movement, a white dove on a blue background, are waving above his head. He reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a small Russian paper flag. On it he wrote: “Peace can only be made with Putin.” He holds the flag in front of his chest and says to his companion: “Do it.” The attendant snaps a photo with his cell phone, then the elderly gentleman rolls up the flag again. She is not wanted on the demo.
