The AfD has moved further and further away from his political beliefs, the 72-year-old told the paper. Too many of the founders’ values and positions have now been softened or even turned into their opposite. Germany still needs an “alternative to the old parties,” said Pazderski. The AfD “unfortunately failed to take on this role.”
Pazderski comes from Pirmasens in Rhineland-Palatinate and made a career in the Bundeswehr. From 2016 to 2020 he was state chairman of the Berlin AfD and until 2021 he was also a member of the Berlin House of Representatives and parliamentary group leader. From 2017 to 2019 he was also one of three deputy federal spokespersons for the AfD.
