Drones against Moscow – air traffic stopped, houses burn

Ukraine has significantly expanded its drone production in order to use the unmanned flying objects to hit military targets in Russia. This time Moscow reported a large number of attacks.

According to the authorities, two houses caught fire in the massive drone attacks on Moscow due to falling debris from the downed flying objects. In the village of Stanovoye, a 52-year-old woman suffered burns to her neck, face and hands and was taken to a hospital, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, said in his Telegram channel. He spoke of a mass drone attack. The burning houses could be seen on videos on social networks.

There were temporarily no take-offs and landings at the capital airports of Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky – for the safety of air traffic, as the Russian aviation authority Rosawiyatsia announced in its Telegram channel.

Dozens of drone attacks on Moscow

The Russian capital Moscow has been the target of dozens of drone attacks since morning. Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that as of 10 a.m. local time (8 a.m. CET), 32 attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles aimed at Moscow had been repelled. In the Moscow region, the Ramenskoye, Domodedovo and Kolomna districts were affected. The anti-aircraft defense is still in use, it said.

Since the Russian attack in February 2022, Ukraine itself has been exposed to Russian air strikes on a daily basis, which, among other things, repeatedly destroy important energy infrastructure. With the drone attacks on Russia, the country wants to hit military targets as part of its defense in order to stop supplies.
